The Karmapa requested us to purchase additional parcels of land around the original 100 acres of gifted land.
The first additional parcel of 33 acres was purchased in 2018. This additional land fronts on the Trans Canada Highway and includes a year-round brook.
Preparations for private visits of His Holiness Karmapa in 2018 (which were postponed), as well as the purchase of the additional acreage, were sponsored by a private donor who wishes to remain anonymous.
Karma Samadhi Ling is a non-profit organization registered with the federal government of Canada. Donations of any size are appreciated. Donors will receive Thank-You cards with an annual update at the end of each year.
How You Can Help Now
Please use the donate button below to support our project. You will be directed to Paypal or may use a credit card. All amounts are in Canadian dollars. Any amount, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated. Specify how you would like your funds used, if not, they will go in our general fund.
Our 2025 Expenses: We anticipate expenses of $2,500.00 Canadian dollars for the coming year.
- Annual spring land clearing and maintenance: $500.
- Property tax: $475 (We anticipate it to be lowered this year.)
- Administration fees: $100
- Membership in the Cape Breton Privateland Parnership: $25
- Membership in the Bras D’Or Biosphere Reserve: $25
- Landscaping around our Tara Buddha Statue installation: $1,000- $1,500 for the hiring of a landscape company with backhoe.
- Signage for our Tara statue: $500 (Breton Print)
- Funds for the lumber to build benches. $200 The benches will be built by a volunteer. (Terry)
