Homage to the bhagavan Buddha! Today, in relation to present situation, I want to offer a talk for all the people and beings of the world in general and particularly—Tibetans whether in Tibet or outside, monastics and lay people. These days, a severe contagious disease, the coronavirus, has spread to many countries around the world. Many people have died and many fallen ill. Even for those who are not ill, because of the danger of this illness spreading, they are afraid and they are unable to travel freely. Much of the world’s work has been stopped. This has created great difficulty for many people and is causing quite a bit of worry, fear, and suffering. This is a great difficulty like we have never experienced before. Read more >>

In July & August, Ani Jangchub led a six-week course on basic meditation called Learning to Meditate. The course was open to all, and well attended.
On Friday June 14, 7pm, Ani Chodron of Gampo Abbey gave a presentation at the BOLD centre on The Pause practice as taught by Pema Chodron. 55 people attended her talk and loved it! Due to popular demand, she was considering a return visit, perhaps in August.
At the invitation of Karma Samadhi Ling, Acharya Choying Gyurmey visited Nova Scotia from April 29th to May 6th, 2019. He taught one evening in Halifax and spent one week on Cape Breton Island, teaching, sightseeing and visiting the land of Samadhi Ling where he performed a smoke offering puja. Acharya arrived in Canada in fall 2018 and at the time of his visit was the Resident Lama of the Rigpe Dorje Centre of Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche in Montreal. https://rigpedorjemontreal.org/en We were delighted to welcome him on his first visit to Nova Scotia. Topics of his talks included The Four Dharmas of Gampopa (Halifax, April 30); Exploring the Nature of Mind (Baddeck, May 3); Applying Buddhist Wisdom to Everyday Problems (Sydney, May 4); and finally a two-part seminar covering an Overview of the Buddhist Path and Meditation, and Introduction to Vajrayana and the Practice of Avalokiteshvara (Sydney, May 5).
